Hope Wharf

Private Residential refurbishment and extension.

Hope Wharf is a private residential warehouse apartment in Rotherhithe, right on the banks of the River Thames.

The project involved excavating down, well below the Thames tidal line which, although was not without its risks, was well worth it as it created an entire new floor of usable floor area for our clients given them a new open plan dining room and study which they previously didn’t have space for.

The volume of the space above was opened up by the removal of a section of the upper floor, creating a double-height space over the kitchen and allowing the reinstatement of a previously blocked up window, to allow daylight to flood into the space. The custom designed kitchen features a concrete ribbon that forms the breakfast bar, then travels up and over the worktop to create one cohesive overall piece of furniture.
