Following an invited process in 2022, Feix&Merlin were commissioned by British Land to design a new world-class affordable workspace for Impact Hub Euston, a leading social enterprise offering business support and flexible workspace to SMEs, in partnership with Knowledge Quarter and British Land at their Regent’s Place campus in central London.
The proposals feature a large welcoming communal co-working area, with a circular relaxation island, as well as smaller, separated offices and phone booths to conduct focused work or client calls that require more privacy. Alongside the workspace there are a number of on-site amenities including a member’s kitchen, secure lockers and post boxes, and a large flexible events space complete with an in-house bar.
Natural materials are used throughout including cork flooring, timber finishes, felt pendant lighting, and soft tones close to nature (greens, terracotta, ash). Curvy and soft furniture pieces create an inviting, positive, playful and convivial atmosphere.
