A New Headquarters for the Cycle Hub on the river Thyne.
The building ramps up and rotates round, creating various different terraced levels providing a new landscape element to the site for people to use in many different ways.
A faceted, jewel-like architecture allowing people to not only inhabit the inside of the building but inviting them to explore the park-like roof terraces on top of it. The perfect place to relax after a long day’s cycling.
Apart from the cycle hub and workshop the building contains office space, a cafe and function room with a fantastic panorama window offering views across the river on the first floor.
You can access all the spaces in the building from the external ramps that are created by the building’s form. As you approach the building from the northern end, part of the landscape peels up incorporating a new planter bed for trees and other planting to create a park feeling and encourage local wildlife to the site.
