Set Design for “The Picture of Dorian Gray: A Restoration”.
Feix&Merlin Architects were commissioned to design the stage set for an ‘in-house’ dramatisation of the famous Oscar Wilde novel “The Picture of Dorian Gray”. The performance takes place within the different parts of a Greenwich townhouse owned by the director and founder of the theatre group The Alchemic Order, Samuel Orange.
It was as important to allow the audience to get submerged in the set as it was to immerse the audience in the plot, the experience will take the guests into the world of Dorian Gray, in close proximity to the performers, moving around the building and its garden in parallel with the development of the storyline, spying through a peephole, looking down on the action through a trap door, or observing scenes through the rear windows of the house.
