Julia is a highly accomplished architect with an exemplary track record at producing work of the highest standard on a variety of different project types and scales. She designs with a strength and drive and has an incredible eye for detail, perfecting the details in every project.
Julia trained at the North Rhine-Westphalia Technical University in Germany and the Escuela Tecnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid, Spain. She worked for various large German practices, including GMP and B&K+ before joining Will Alsop’s studio in 2001 where she helped to lead the ‘BIG Architecture’ team on major regeneration projects and the Walsall Waterfront masterplan.
Julia co-founded Feix&Merlin Architects in 2006, and jointly with Tarek, she leads all Feix&Merlin projects, with particular interests in residential as well as hospitality and retail projects.
Julia led the design team for the RBC pavilion at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, which won a Gold Medal. She has recently completed the Conduit St Members Club in Mayfair, and is currently leading on a boutique hotel project in central London.
Tarek is a highly skilled architect with a strong and instinctive approach, and a proven track record at delivering projects at every scale. He has the ability to see the whole project at once, understanding everything from the overall vision to detail interfaces at the same time. He is constantly sketching and drawing ideas as they arise.
Tarek graduated from the Bartlett in 2000, and originally worked at Foster & Partners before joining Will Alsop at his studio in Battersea in 2001. He played a key role on some of Alsop’s most high profile projects including Queen Mary University’s ‘Blizard Building’, and the ‘Palestra’ office building, as well as large masterplanning and infrastructure projects.
Tarek co-founded Feix&Merlin Architects in 2006, and jointly with Julia, he leads all Feix&Merlin projects, with particular interests in the arts and public spaces, as well as mixed-use regeneration projects.
Most recently Tarek lead the competition winning scheme the redevelopment of the Walworth Town Hall, Southwark.
Ignacio is a highly accomplished Senior Interior Designer, with a wealth of experience delivering developments around the world.
Ignacio trained at at the School of Architecture in Madrid, Spain before coming to work in the UK in the early 2000’s.
Ignacio completed a number of prestigious projects over the 5 years he spent working with the yoo design studio team on projects located all over the world.
He joins Feix&Merlin following on from a very successful period working with Finch Hatton, a private development company who operate at the pinnacle of luxury property design and development. He lead the team on some of their most high profile projects, producing ID Concepts and carrying them through to Development & Construction stages.
Since joining Feix&Merlin in 2016, Ignacio has worked on some key projects including the final stages of a 50-storey apart/hotel tower in Colombo, Sri Lanka; interiors for two new hotels in Hamburg and Berlin, and a new showroom in Clerkenwell for a new tile brand.
Josh is an enthusiastic, friendly and dedicated architect who is client focussed and listens, asking questions to help formulate the brief. He has worked on both large and small projects across all RIBA work stages. He takes pride in preparing well-structured and detailed information, ensuring that the design intent is communicated effectively to drive the project forward.
Josh joins us after several years working with Project Orange where he had the opportunity to lead on a number of hospitality and custom build housing projects.
Since joining Feix&Merlin in 2019 Josh is now leading on the refurbishment of Walworth Town Hall, bringing this iconic local landmark back to life as a community and co-working hub.
Holly is a meticulous, driven and creative mid-weight interior designer.
Holly joins us after spending several years working with Philip Watts having successfully completed various Hotel and Hospitality projects for many established and respected international brands.
Since joining Feix&Merlin in early 2020, Holly is working on two major Hotel projects, in Amsterdam and Hamburg.
Harry is a Part II Architectural Assistant, passionate about exploring how architecture can be an effective tool to benefit mental health and wellbeing. He is currently embarking on his Part III studies, having completed his BA Hons Degree in Architecture at Northumbria Architecture School and Part 1 at Oxford Brookes.
Harry has previously worked at Glenn Howells Architects where he had an active role in their urban regeneration schemes in East London, and in Birmingham’s City Centre.
Since joining F&M in 2019, Harry has worked on proposals for a new-build multi-unit residential development in Peckham, as well as several private residential projects across London & Birmingham.
Lizzie is an enthusiastic and bold designer, graduating from Brighton university with a first-class honours in Interior Architecture, where her work focused around speculative design, creative education and community programmes.
Lizzie joins us from Chalk architecture in Brighton where she worked on a number of hospitality fit-out projects, as well as the BOXPARK Shore Beach Café, and the Little Creatures brewery in King’s Cross.
Since joining Feix&Merlin in 2019, Lizzie is working on two fit-out projects for Lend Lease with a community and hospitality focus, as well a hotel project in Hamburg.
Abby is a freelance architectural assistant, joining Feix&Merlin alongside her studies at Central St Martins.
Viktorija is a freelance architectural assistant, joining Feix&Merlin alongside her studies at Central St Martins.
Eren is a freelance architectural assistant and interior designer, joining Feix&Merlin with experience from Oliver Heath Design and Chalk Architecture.
Mark Freeman is a Part I freelance architectural assistant, joining Feix&Merlin alongside his studies at Central St Martins.
