Feix&Merlin have been commissioned to design a new-build family house occupying a previously vacant corner site within the Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham.
The 4-storey building is clad in dark brick with a glazed plinth and features a double height corner window making the most of the views across Birmingham city centre. The Crittall-style windows are set back within deep reveals, with burnished bronze metal linings protruding beyond the brick face. A double-height entrance courtyard, a sheltered terrace on the second floor and a walled garden on the roof creates external amenity space accessible from every level.
The proposals have been approved, and initial enabling works have commenced on site.
