TRIBE DÜSSELDORF

Following an invited process, Feix&Merlin were commissioned by Gerdom family group, in partnership with Accor, Ennismore and KNSA to design the interiors for a new world-class hotel for the TRIBE brand in Dusseldorf, a refurbishment of the old Intercity hotel.

The design takes its inspiration from the Inclusivity Symbol, based on mathematical symbols, the inclusion symbol [+] means ‘everything inside is included’. This has become a global symbol of inclusivity which chimes perfectly with TRIBE as it speaks directly to brand’s ethos as a diverse and inclusive place where all are welcome. A group of likeminded individuals, connected by shared values.

 We have taken this symbol as an inspiration to inform elements of the design for hotel, for example, it features in the guestroom drapery as a subtle monogram pattern, and also as an artwork in the guestroom bathrooms. In the lobby the symbol has inspired the general arrangement of the joinery pieces and the floor finishes.
